PhD graduate of Capella University, an accredited online university, is appointed associate vice president for student life at Southern Wesleyan University
Dr. Justin Carter earned a PhD in Education from Capella, with a specialization in Leadership for Higher Education
MINNEAPOLIS, December 21, 2011 – Capella University (http://www.capella.edu), an accredited online university* that has built its reputation by providing high quality online degree programs for working adults, announced today that Dr. Justin Carter, who earned his PhD in Education from Capella, has been appointed associate vice president for student life at Southern Wesleyan University (SWU) in Central, South Carolina. Dr. Carter's PhD specialization was in Leadership for Higher Education.
His primary responsibilities at SWU will be to direct new student orientation and develop a comprehensive leadership development program for students. Dr. Carter previously served as the senior associate director of community and ethical standards at Clemson University. He is also an adjunct faculty member with the University of the Rockies School of Organizational Leadership.
"Being in Capella's PhD specialization in Leadership for Higher Education not only expanded my knowledge of leadership, but helped develop the skills I'll need to encourage our students to take up the mantle of leadership," said Dr. Carter.
