Dean of the School of Undergraduate Studies at Capella University, an accredited online university, named to list of Chicago's Top 25 Women

Dr. Feranda Williamson, dean at the online university, was recognized by "Rolling Out" magazine with the Top 25 Women of Chicago award

MINNEAPOLIS, December 14, 2010 – Dr. Feranda Williamson, dean of the School of Undergraduate Studies at Capella University (www.capella.edu), an accredited online university* that has built its reputation by providing high quality online degree programs for working adults, was recognized with the Top 25 Women of Chicago award by Rolling Out magazine. Chicago's 2010 winners were selected from a wide contingency of nominees, all of whom are distinguished and accomplished in their fields. As president and CEO of the Chicago Mass Choir, Williamson was recognized with the award for her excellence in leadership and service.

"It's a tremendous honor to be selected as one of the Top 25 Women of Chicago," commented Williamson. "As a leader within the choir and community, it's humbling to have the opportunity to provide mentorship and support for others to assist them in reaching their goals. Community service is an extension of my leadership role as the dean of the School of Undergraduate Studies of Capella University. More than 38,000 students are pursuing an online degree at Capella University, with 30 percent enrolled in Capella's doctoral degree programs, 48 percent enrolled in Capella's master's degree programs, and 21 percent in Capella's bachelor's degree programs.
