A global association of education professionals recognizes PhD graduate from Capella University, an accredited online university, as one of the world's top leaders in education
Dr. Sheron Brown, a graduate from the online university's School of Education, was recognized by the Phi Delta Kappa International Emerging Leader Program
MINNEAPOLIS, November 4, 2010 – Sheron Brown, a doctoral graduate from Capella University, an accredited online university* that has built its reputation by providing high quality online degree programs for working adults, has been recognized as an Emerging Leader by Phi Delta Kappa (PDK) International, a global association of education professionals. The PDK Emerging Leader program recognizes top educators from around the world for their leadership, particularly related to PDK's tenets of service, research, and leadership. The award winners are selected from a competitive class of applicants based on their outstanding professional accomplishments.

Phi Delta Kappa International is one of the largest education associations in the world and has thousands of members dedicated to improving education, including teachers, principals, superintendents, and higher education faculty and administrators.
Brown, who earned her degree in Education with a specialization in Professional Studies in Education, is part of the online university's network of more than 20,000 alumni who are using their degrees and experiences to change the world around them. More than 38,000 students are pursuing an online degree at Capella University, with 30 percent enrolled in Capella's doctoral degree programs, and 48 percent enrolled in Capella's master's degree programs.
