Former vice-chair of the online university's board of directors Dr. Marcia Ballinger, is elected to chair
MINNEAPOLIS, August 18, 2009 - Capella University (www.capella.edu), an accredited*, fully online university, that has built its reputation by providing quality education for working adults, has announced that Dr. Marcia Ballinger has been elected to chair Capella University's board or directors.
Ballinger, who joined Capella University's board in 2007, previously served as vice-chair. She has been a principal with Minneapolis-based KeyStone Search, an executive search firm, since 2004, after serving eight years as a vice president in the executive search industry. Ballinger's previous corporate positions were as director of human resources development with two international manufacturing and distribution firms. She has been an adjunct faculty member in business at Capella University and St. Mary's University.

Ballinger holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Speech-Communication from the University of Minnesota. She earned her PhD in Organization and Management from Capella University. She also earned her certification as a senior professional in human resources from the HR Certification Institute. Ballinger recently served as vice chair of the board of the American Red Cross-Twin Cities Area Chapter and is a long-time member of the board of the Human Resources Executive Forum. KeyStone Search was a recipient of the 2009 Minnesota Business Ethics Award, which honors Minnesota companies that exhibit the highest standards of ethical performance.
