PhD graduate from Capella University, an accredited online university, named first president of Colorado State University – Global Campus

Dr. Becky Takeda-Tinker earned her PhD in Organization and Management at the online university

MINNEAPOLIS, July 23, 2010 – Becky Takeda - Tinker, a PhD graduate of Capella University, an accredited online university* that has built its reputation by providing high quality online degree programs for working adults, has been appointed president of Colorado State University - Global Campus by the Colorado State University System Board of Governors. She is the first president to lead the new online campus. More than 37,100 students are pursuing an online degree at Capella University (http://www.capella.edu), with 32 percent enrolled in Capella's doctoral degree programs, and 48 percent enrolled in master's degree programs.

"It's an exciting opportunity to apply the academic and research theory and practice from my Capella PhD program when leading the faculty and students to success as CSU-Global’s first president," commented Takeda-Tinker.

CSU-Global Campus was created in 2007, as part of the Colorado State University System, to provide non-traditional students with access to quality and fully online public education degree programs. The Campus currently has over 2000 students in its bachelor-completion and master degree programs and graduated its first class in December 2009.
