Capella University Sponsoring Cleveland Marathon

Online University will be the presenting sponsor at the marathon expo May 19–20

CLEVELAND, May 15, 2006 — Eight thousand runners will gather in Cleveland May 19–21 for one of the longest standing running traditions in the Midwest, the Cleveland Marathon. Capella University, an accredited online university and major sponsor of the marathon, will also be the presenting sponsor of the expo being held two days prior to the race on May 19 and 20. The expo is where runners register for the race and have the opportunity to visit over 100 health and fitness related booths.

One of Capella's own, Erin Lewis, a graduate student from South Euclid, Ohio, will be running in the marathon. For Lewis, a 27-year-old human resources generalist for a Cleveland bank, Capella has been a great fit. Her drive to finish the race and finish her Master's of Science in Organization and Management are key motivators for Lewis. Taking online courses allows her the freedom to train, but she also sticks to a strict schedule that accounts for the time needed to work, study, and tend to her family.
