Recent approval of the online university's master's specialization in Early Childhood Education completes the list of state-approved P–12 specializations
MINNEAPOLIS, May 11, 2009 - Capella University, an accredited*, online university, announced that the Minnesota Board of Teaching has granted state approval of Capella's master's specialization in Early Childhood Education. With that approval, all Capella P–12 education specializations that can lead to licensure are now state approved. Graduation from a state-approved program is a licensure requirement in a number of states.
"Achieving state approval of all P–12 specializations recognizes our continued commitment to provide quality graduate education for adults," said Harry McLenighan, faculty chair in Capella University's School of Education. "We are delighted that the Board has agreed that our master's specialization in Early Childhood Education meets their quality standards, allowing us to now offer eight state-approved P–12 specializations."
