Capella Education Company names Dr. Michael Offerman interim president of Capella University
Former president Dr. Christopher Cassirer takes on new role with the university
MINNEAPOLIS, March 26, 2010 - Capella Education Company (NASDAQ: CPLA), a provider of exclusively online post-secondary education through its wholly owned subsidiary Capella University, announced today that Dr. Michael Offerman, EdD, Capella’s president emeritus and current vice chairman of external university initiatives, has been named interim president of Capella University. Dr. Offerman served as president of Capella University from 2001 to 2007. He replaces Dr. Christopher Cassirer, ScD, MPH, who resigned the presidency for personal reasons and will be leading special projects for the university.
