MINNEAPOLIS, February 25, 2010 - Terri Bryson, a graduate of Capella University, an accredited online university* that has built its reputation by providing high quality online degree programs for working adults, has been named dean of Calhoun Community College's Huntsville campus in Alabama. Bryson, who earned a master's degree with an Enrollment Management specialization at Capella University (http://www.capella.edu), began in her new position in January. Nearly 34,000 students are pursuing an online degree at Capella, with 33 percent enrolled in Capella's doctoral degree programs, and 48 percent enrolled in Capella's master's degree programs.
In her new position, Bryson is responsible for all operations at the Huntsville campus and its nearly 5,000 students. Previously, she was the executive director of development for the college. In total, Bryson has more than 20 years of marketing and business development experience in the medical and banking fields.
"The degree I earned at Capella actually prompted my move into dean," Bryson said. "I specifically chose the degree program I did because I believed it would be applicable to the higher education field. I appreciate the fact that my degree and specialty looked at education from a business, marketing and management standpoint. It helped me gain the credentials I needed to advance my career in academia."
